House Cleaning Services Wichita KSSeriously Deep Cleaning Your Kitchen

House Cleaning Services Wichita

Once or twice per year, your kitchen deserves a seriously deep cleaning that will keep your appliances in good condition and remove accumulated dirt from surfaces.

Deep cleans are often difficult endeavors that can take homeowners multiple days to finish, so you may want to consider hiring a house cleaning company in Wichita. If you’re ready to do the job yourself, follow these tips to make your deep clean more successful.

Deep Clean the Cabinets

You use your kitchen cabinets daily, but it’s easy to forget that they get dirty just like other parts of your kitchen. Since you probably don’t clean your cabinets every week, you need to pay special attention to them when you do a deep clean.
To deep clean your kitchen cabinets:

  1. Remove everything from inside the cabinets.
  2. Use a mixture of warm water and mild dish soap to wipe all of the cabinet surfaces.
  3. Use orange oil to remove accumulated grease and grime that dish soap can’t clean.
  4. Replace damaged or discolored shelves.
  5. Make sure you wipe under the cabinets to remove any grease splatters that might have occurred.

Don’t Forget Your Sink & Disposal

You probably clean your sink at least once a day to remove food debris and beverages. A deep clean will take more effort, though. Start by mixing eight ounces of baking soda with the juice of 10 limes. Use a sponge to apply the pasty mixture to your sink’s interior and drain. Then, wipe away the mixture to reveal a renewed sink that looks and smells wonderful.

If you still notice smells from your disposal, soak a loaf of bread in vinegar until its soggy. Stuff the loaf into the drain, wait 15 minutes, and turn on the disposal while running cold water. Throw in some frozen citrus rinds for a refreshing scent.

Like your sink, you probably clean your kitchen floors every day to get rid of dirt, pet hair, and spilled food. When you deep clean your kitchen floor, you’ll need more than a broom.

Start by mopping the floor. The type of product you use will depend on your floor. If you have a hardwood floor, then you can clean it with a mixture of castile soap, warm water, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. If your floors are made of vinyl, tile, or laminate, then you can use an all-purpose cleaner from any home supply store.

Make sure you pay attention to the places where your floor and walls meet. You’ll also want to pay particular attention to grime that builds up around appliances.

Stove & Hood

Depending on how often you cook, your stove and hood can accumulate a lot of grease. You can loosen the grease by spraying it with undiluted white vinegar. Let the vinegar sit for about 10 minutes before you wipe away the grease.

If you still notice greasy spots on your stove or hood, scrub the area with baking soda. If you still haven’t solved the problem, then you should try a surprisingly useful grease remover: vegetable oil.
Don’t forget to replace or clean your hood’s filter. Without a clean filter, your hood can’t remove smoke and other irritants while you cook.

Deep cleaning a refrigerator is one of the most challenging parts of the process. Even though refrigerators are designed to keep foods fresh, they can also hide rotten fruits and vegetables that leak onto the shelves.

Follow this guide to make sure you clean every part of your refrigerator.

  • Start by removing all of the food so you have plenty of room to work.
  • Wipe down the interior with a solution of baking soda dissolved in warm water.
  • If your refrigerator has a drip pan, use paper towels to remove moisture.
  • Dust the coils if they’re exposed.
  • Finally, clean the exterior with mild soap and water.
